I will be bringing out more decor and posting about it in about another week or so. This year I would like a small REAL tree and I hope there is no spiders in it waiting to thaw!!!! eeek!

The Start of our Christmas Decor
OK, so I finally started to dress the place up with some Christmas decor. We all have our own style and mine is quite minimal compared to some and I don't like a lot of color. My family thinks it's boring-I think it's simple and pleasing.
I will be bringing out more decor and posting about it in about another week or so. This year I would like a small REAL tree and I hope there is no spiders in it waiting to thaw!!!! eeek!

Anne
Thanks very much Anne! :)
DeleteYour Christmas decorations are very fitting for your home...simple, rustic and beautiful. I LOVE your mitten wreath :) I'd love to decorate a little more minimally but my kids are traditionalists and want the same colors and favorite ornaments as all the years before. My family room is done in white slipcovered furniture with gray accents and I thought I'd add some pops of red and some greenery here and there. Then we will all be happy!
ReplyDeleteXO,
Jane
Thanks! I have decided to have some pops of red as well, hoping to post some pics soon!
DeleteI love your style and I love your holiday decorations. I like the simple look most of the time but I seem to go overboard every Christmas. Maybe one of these years I'll stick to my guns and keep it simple.
ReplyDeleteThanks Robin! Hoping to get some more up soon!

ReplyDeleteHi Chrissy! thanks! hope to add some pics of more very soon! been MIA, have had bad news lately-this time of year can take it's toll on some-I lost an old friend and trying to deal with all that December brings-good and bad! Mel
DeleteNice to meet you Melanie,
ReplyDeleteSimple and pleasing perfect !
I too decorate simple one tone White, Grey, Natural all the darker shades of white.
Its really rather hard to decorate in these tones and keeping it simple like you have done with personality is even harder, it takes a keen eye to pull it together with uniqueness as you have done with soulful beauty.
I could so move in, and I think you could move inro my home.
Come for a visit would love to see you.
Will be following and adding you to my sidebar of inspiration.
xx
Dore

DeleteHi,
ReplyDeleteI hope that this email finds you well.
I recently came across myrusticfarmhouse.blogspot.com and would like to discuss the possibility of paying you to display an advertisement on the site.
We have a large customer base of clients prepared to pay to display discrete adverts, contextually matched to the content of the page on high quality sites like yours, and this can be a great way to generate an income without compromising your website.
Please email me back if you would be interested in finding out more and I will send you a follow-up email outlining the opportunity in more detail.
I look forward to hearing from you shortly.
Hello, sorry but your profile doesn't show me much information about you- and safari won't let me e-mail you when I click your e-mail link. I do not have much of a fan base at this point so I don't feel your clients would much benefit from trying to advertise on my page. Thank you for the offer!
DeleteHello, I am your newest follower and I LOVE your home.....what I love is the pure simpleness of it...so calming and beautiful!!!!!!!
ReplyDeleteThanks so much Linda! Hope to add some more pics real soon!
DeleteI just want to say I absolutely adore your home! I love how you've created the rustic primitive feel without being over-cluttered or too "staged". I actually just recently moved to Ontario, but I'm in the middle of Toronto, not much to inspire the rustic feel here. We are blessed to be in an old home with some character, but alas, we are just renting and can only do so much (also have no budget for home decor) Thank you so much for sharing your beautiful home with us, you have definitely inspired me.
ReplyDeleteThanks so much Ellei! I hope to add some more Christmas decor soon! We also have very little budget for home decor-I have managed to FIND great furniture and decor at Flea Markets, antique shops and roadside!! :)
DeleteDo you give permission to pin images from your blog?
ReplyDeleteHi Clare! feel free! thank you!! :)
DeleteAwww this is sooo great! I love your Christmas decorations and I'd pin this to my Pinterest board. Thanks for sharing!
ReplyDeleteLoVing all your decorating! I have that same olde brown jug you have on the side table. How clever to hang the mittens on the wreath with old clothes pegs.I remember my sister having a pair of those ice skates with the strap and buckle. No doubt they were mine first :) Now I wonder what Mom did with them.. so many years ago,M.
ReplyDeleteMelanie just came across the cupboard post on Pinterest and fell in love. I am looking for one just like this or very similar to this. Do you remember where you got it? Does it have shelves in it? If you would care to share the dimensions and type of wood, I bet my hubby could make one. I do so love it along with all your decorating. My decor is colonial/primitive, but I do like the simplicity.
