This weekend was the one I've been waiting for since the last sale they had here in May! I picked up my friend that went with me to the last one as well and off we went! It's called Day in the Country Sale and is hosted by Kim Davies from Tattered & Torn. The barn is packed with antique and homemade deliciousness from multiple vendors. Seen here is the lovely Ironstone bowl I purchased from Kim. http://www.tatteredandtorn.ca/ |
|
This barn is packed with AMAZING antiques & handmade goodies from multiple vendors-they even have a portable potty which impresses most of us since we are up early drinking our Timmies! lol
And they actually had drinks & donuts for everyone there as well! |
|
This couch almost made me cry-and for very good reason-which I will explain in a minute |
|
Most of the photos you will see are from Tattered & Torn booth because it is the largest, most spacious booth-unfortunately I didn't get a chance to get all the booths and views of the sale because there was just too many people in there! |
|
This barn sale has some serious amazingly beautiful pieces! |
AND! I just noticed Chrissy from
http://theapothacaryshop.blogspot.ca/ right there in the background by the fireplace mantle! it was SO nice to meet her in person!
|
This was the Eclectic Pelican booth-I apologize for not taking the best photos of the event-it was VERY HARD due to the fact that there were so many people in the way!! http://www.eclecticpelican.ca/ |
|
This beautiful PIE SAFE also has special meaning! I coveted it since her May show and it is now mine because Kim is a very, very wonderful woman! (tears) |
|
gorgeous! |
|
such details! |
|
I have never owned a rug beater-so I picked this one up at the show. |
|
NOW! this couch (on the left) was a road side find from last year-I picked it up and brought it home with the intention of doing 'something' with it. As time past we had moved it from the barn to the trailer to the bunkhouse and back to the barn and my husband asked what I was going to do with it because it is a very large piece and with all my other road side finds-it was taking up space! SO....I just KNEW that Kim would turn it into something fabulous so I handed it over to her and here it is adorned with antique grain sacks & homespun. It was beyond my expectations! |
IMPORTANT MESSAGE: I just received notification that this sale is going on AGAIN NEXT SATURDAY (24th) so save the date!!

Hi Anne! YES it's a great show! Hoping to go back this afternoon! and I know the couch is amazing! :)
DeleteWhat a fun sale! the sofa looks so amazing!! I really want that Graham Reid & Associates sign that keeps popping up in your photos!
ReplyDeleteHi Lisa! did you want me to ask about it for you? or are you just admiring? cuz there's nothing wrong with that-I do that all the time! since I'm broke and can't buy all the things I love! LOL!!
DeleteOn the couch is a number 9 pillow. Is that for sale? Could you have the seller contact me if possible? Thanks!
ReplyDeleteHi Marcy yes it's for sale-I will let her know you are interested! ;)
DeleteWhat a fantastic sale! Thanks for sharing all the eye candy. Your sofa is simply gorgeous...you must be SO happy!
ReplyDeleteXO,
Jane
Thank you! It IS a gorgeous couch-but it is not mine- I gave it to Kim to do whatever she wanted with it-and I love what she did and it is hers to keep or sell. If I had kept it and tried to recover it-who knows how it would have turned out! haha but it still made me really happy to see it done like that-I almost cried! ;)
DeleteI see so many amazing things for sale in your pictures and I LOVE that pie safe!
ReplyDeleteHey Megan! I KNOW! I love it! I am going around trying to figure out where I am going to put it and what I am going to PUT IN IT! I found that that big old couch on the side of the road and kept it for about a year and hadn't done anything with it and I just knew it would turn out awesome if she got her hands on it. Kim from Tattered & Torn is the stylist that was going to come to my home with Robin Stubbert a Canadian photographer to take preliminary photos for Romantic Prairie Style magazine BUT THEN the magazine was cancelled! SO I lost my mojo for quite some time but am slowly getting it back. :)
DeleteThat looks like it was a lot of fun to visit. I see alot of things I love there. That couch is to die for! You sure were generous to give that to her to work her magic. She did an amazing job. Wish I lived near there so I could take part in that sale!
ReplyDeleteThanks Kelly! and Kim was very generous to me as she gave me the pie safe that I loved! she has such a warmth about her and her husband too. they always have such big genuine smiles! I really get the feeling that when all those vendors are together there-they are like one big happy family. Each vendors style is a little different but they all blend and compliment eachother. I am definitely going back on Saturday! There are SO many people that say the same-they wish they lived in the area. I am so upset that my hubby has to work because I really wanted him to go! but then again shopping with the hubby is kinda like hunting with the game warden! LOL ;)
DeleteHow I wish I could attend! All the elements I love! I'm your newest follower--on the blog! I've been following you for a while on Facebook. Absolutely love your style. You have inspired me in so many ways in my own farmhouse journey. I'm so glad I found your blog!
ReplyDeleteOh my!! THANK YOU SO MUCH! what a compliment coming from you since I ended up spending most of my afternoon and evening panning through your pictures and your kitchen(s) inspire me SO much! Every little detail! LOVE the door blocking the fridge too! Simple and perfect! I find my style of farmhouse decor sways a little in one direction (french) and then after a while it sways a little in a different direction (primitive) because I LOVE so many different farmhouse looks but when I see your pics I realize that is also my own farmhouse style and now I have to find a way to GET IT! thanks so much! :)
DeleteHey you.....awesome post.....I cant believe you got that pie safe...I was looking at it wishing it could have gone home with me!! Wish I was off this sat. I would so go back, you going ? Talk to you soon...xo
ReplyDeleteHey Chrissy! I am going to try really hard to get back! My husband did a shift change at work and I was SO upset because I really wanted to share that experience with him of going together. Christine's shop in St. George is also done up for Christmas now-it's not too far from Southworks-one day you should plan a daytrip and visit both places. Kim's booth is at Southworks. And I KNOW! can't wait to get my hands on that pie safe! SO HAPPY! take care
DeleteHi Melanie...thanks for sharing this fabulous event, wish it wasn't so far away!
ReplyDeleteGoing back to peek again!
Hi Sandi! This sale is going on again this Saturday but I'm afraid I might have to miss it. :(

ReplyDeleteHi Chrissy! No, I didnt make it out the second day! I bet you mean Daryl-he has a blog- Daryl McMahon-check it out! :)
Deleteopppsadaisy I mean Daryl....such a nice guy!!!
ReplyDeleteoh!!! lol :)
DeleteLove the shot of clothing...reminiscent of Magnolia Pearl...who is that vendor?
ReplyDeleteYes! Great stuff and I 'THINK' it is Magnolia Pearl. The vendor is tattered and torn-there are links under the photos.
DeleteI truly believe one mans junk is another mans treasure. Not that it was your "junk" so to speak. But she had time and a vision. She really did do an amazing job of re-finishing it.I would LoVe to know when that sale will be in 2014. Be still my beating heart :) M.
