Lavender Topiaries

I am wondering if it is even POSSIBLE to keep my lavender topiaries ALIVE this winter? I seem to be able to kill plants quite easily no matter the season! Green thumb? NOPE! not here! Do I keep them inside or out? Do I prune them down? ANY help would be GREATLY appreciated!

  1. I'm not expert but I would keep them in a garage wrapped in burlap. I keep my potted Japanese maples that way successfully for 5 years. Lavender is a perennial so it should survive but it needs some dormancy (that's why the garage).

  2. Good luck! I'd have no idea. I had a boxwood topiary once, which quickly died. But it still looked great so I kept it for about a year after! I'm just thrilled that my last-year's lavender actually came back this year thanks to our mild winter here in AB.
