Oh I have longed for the day when I actually got myself a DECENT camera!!
and now I have one! It's a CANON Rebel T3i
and it takes WAAYYYY better photos than my other cameras!!
I went around testing it out today
(don't mind the half dead herbs please-even they show up better with this camera!)
I love the sound it makes too when you click to take the photo! lol
Colors & details of the photos are so clear compared to before I am just amazed!
I have asked several other bloggers and this camera seemed to be quite popular.
There is a button that can make the background more blurry-which I like.
In this photo the flash popped up and scared me! lol
Oh I think I'm going to have some fun!
I would love to find one of those books FOR DUMMIES about it. lol
My husband keeps asking me how I like it and wanted to see my first photos-he knew I had been wanting a new camera for so LONG now! So he is happy too.
Now, I have been known to drop my cameras-so he has asked me to wear the shoulder strap or wrap it around my wrist. I did purchase an extra warranty-where even if I run it over with my car-they will replace it! ~but it's about proving to my hubby that I won't dare drop this one! (I hope!?!)
Our niece went to school for photography and she said right off that she got in the habit of wrapping the strap around her wrist-She spent about $5,000!! for her camera- so I would have hired it a body guard as well! lol
Here is my youngest with her Kitty. She hugs her every chance she gets!
wow what a difference. great choice. i use a sony nex-5r for my blogging and love it. looking forward to lots more great photos.
ReplyDeleteThanks Meg
DeleteI have a LOT to learn! I may look into the cost of a course or it will take me FOREVERR to learn on my own.
Definetly not as good as yours! I can see that I may be needing to go shopping :) Your pictures are so clear.
ReplyDeleteYou have a lovely home! Happy snapping!
Thanks very much!
DeleteI hope you enjoy!
I am a fan of your blog now-I need to spend more time in blogland! lol
That is a great camera and you will love the user friendly aspect of it also! I just did a post on pushing the older Canon Rebel T3 to the limit using different settings, and I did some comparison shots with a pro Canon 5D Mark II camera, and the Rebel held it's own. You will love it:-)
ReplyDeleteGood to know! I am eager to learn what all this camera can do! Thanks for posting! I am a new fan!
DeleteCongratulations...this is a fantastic investment. I bought the same camera 2 years ago and let me say, it's fun and user friendly, yet there are so many things you can do with it, you might want to take a class. I took one online and found a wealth of information on it.
ReplyDeleteYour pictures are beautiful!! Your little girl and beyond gorgeous kitty! I hope you share lots of pictures of them!! And I would love if you stopped by! :)
XO,
Jane
Hi Jane,
DeleteI am going to look into taking a class-depending on how much it will cost!
The camera shop where I bought it offers classes but he also told me I could learn a lot on line or just by using it! I am a fan of your blog! I just need to spend more time here-I usually use facebook! ;)
LOVE, LOVE, LOVE. I am in love with your home anyway and now even more so. I am desperate for a new camera and it is a cannon I am after. What gorgeous pics, thanks for sharing xxx
ReplyDeleteThanks Emma! Oh I had to suffer through using my crappy camera for the last couple years and it killed me! LOL I had Jennifer Grey from Cottage of the Month tell me if my photos were of better quality she would have shared my home on her blog!!!! HOW UPSETTING! She recommended this camera for better quality photos. Now I just have to learn how to use it!! :/
DeleteI love the gorgeous photos, amazed at how beautifully your cat stares at the camera and lets your daughter carry him about. Also, I do feel bad for the dog who wants to be where he cannot go. He looks gorgeous too!
ReplyDeletei! Thanks very much! Our dog is cordoned off right now-she is in heat at the moment which is very messy and she will not wear a diaper. She loves laying on our furniture, but I clean up after 5 kids, 3 cats, 2 dogs and a husband as it is I would much rather her be gated right now. LOL She is doing fine with it-we have another dog and they are always together. :)

ReplyDeleteI bought myself the very same camera and also love it. The best suggestion I received was to ck. out videos and there are many. I do so much better seeing it done rather the reading and trying to do it. Love your pics! Jan
ReplyDeleteHi Jan Thanks for sharing! I am not good with trying to learn from reading either-I need to see it done or have an instructor! lol
DeleteI visit you often, and am inspired by your home and the beauty you create. I too have the T3i Cannon for almost 2 years and still love it. Easy to work and make your photos measure up to the professionals :)
ReplyDeleteI am in this issue of Artful Blogger and was fearful how they would size up for a magazine, to my surprise I was more then pleased with the out come. You photos have always been very beautiful of your home.
Enjoy your new camera love!
A beautiful February.
Xx
Doré

I always enjoyed your pictures, you're the reason I fell in love with farmhouse style, seriously. . . but I can see you're gonna be hard to keep up with now. . . you're already off to a good start. . . Love your home, pets, kids and style. . .

Oh boy Debi! Not sure what happened with your comment-but I wasn't mad about anything! JEEPERS! lol I am having issues with my own posting here and it's driving me nuts! Thanks so much for the compliment! but I have seen your blog-are you finding my comments? I just love your style very FARMHOUSE!! and I think you're keeping up just fine! lol ~Mel
Deletesomething is going on. . . I commented on your last comment and now its gone. . . frustrating huh. . . anyway, yes I do see your comments on my blog. . . thanks for the sweet words. . . I hear blogger can have a mind of it's own at times. . . hopefully you get it worked out. . . ~d
ReplyDeletewell Debi, as I was trying to REPLY to each persons comment-it wouldn't show as a reply it would show as a comment and I had to delete them because I was trying to REPLY! lol It took forever to make it work! so something is going on! very frustrating-I hope when I click PUBLISH it will show as a reply. and I will ask you to try again as well to see what happens. I know my own computer has a possible virus and is extremely slow-all sorts of things keep popping up-but I guess when my kids are on here clicking everything possible it is bound to happen! ugh!
Deletereply it is. . . fingers crossed it's fixed. . .
DeleteBeautiful pictures Melanie. I just got a new camera for Christmas and I have been playing with it. It just takes some time to get use to all the gadgets. I like to just point and shoot! Thanks for coming by my blog with your sweet comments.
ReplyDeleteKris
I've been wanting to get a new camera, so this is good info. I LOVE the pics of your daughter and cat!! They made me smile :)
ReplyDeleteSusan
itsoverflowing.com has some great tutorials and has helped me get started with mine! Good luck!
ReplyDeleteGlad you've got a new camera - enjoy!
ReplyDeleteThank you. Love love, Andrew. Bye.
You'll have to keep updating on us on how you love this camera...I'm hoping to get one sometime and I'm still in the research mode. Congrats! It takes great pics!
ReplyDeleteThanks so much for sharing this info on your blog! I, too, desperately need a new camera, and am so afraid of making the wrong choice. With the pics you've shown fresh out of the gate, and comments you've received from others that have this model, it sounds like this one's a winner. Now to make the big jump and purchase one....makes me nervous cuz I'm such a cheapskate! Looking forward to all the loveliness you will be capturing and sharing with us! Thanks again, Teresa at cottagelodge.net
ReplyDeleteGreat pictures. Blogging around and found your blog. So glad to see you here blogging. So many deserted blogs these days. Thank you for letting me visit, I enjoyed viewing your page. I got this fancy digital camera and don't know how to use it, so I am still using my old one. But eventually I will try again.
